Shay Mitchell Talks About Tonight's Highly Anticipated Finale of Pretty Little Liars!

 

Shay Mitchell stars on the hit ABC Family show, "Pretty Little Liars" as Emily.  We have watched Shay's character evolve on the show and go through many obstacles.  She plays a lesbian teen and this past season her girlfriend, Maya (Bianca Lawson) gets murdered which is very devistating to Emily. At the end of last season we found out that Mona (Janel Parrish) was revealed as "A" and now tonight we may find out who she's working for and possibly answer the question on all of the girl's minds, who killed Alison (Sasha Pieterse)!  Don't forget to tune in to ABC Family at 9 PM EST/ 8PM CST to see how this all unfolds.

 

GMC: All of the characters on Pretty Little Liars have been through so much but your character has been through the ringer, what can we expect moving forward and on the finale?

SM:  I would say for Emily’s character a lot happened and now she’s going through all these emotions, she’s upset and angry.  We saw a completely different side to Emily and that’s what makes it interesting!  The mid-season finale is insane! She’s really involved with it.

GMC:  I know you probably can’t say much but we have to ask, will we find out who, Mona (Janel Parrish) was working with as “A”?

SM: Possibly… {laughs} I always have to say it like that, I think we could possibly find out.

GMC: Ok, I’ll take that… You always look so fashionable on the show and off the show, can you tell us about your ensemble today?

SM: I am wearing Erin Fetherston.  I pick whatever, I’m comfortable in. A little glitz, whenever, I can add sparkle, its fun.  I have fun! I pick out whatever, I feel good in and that’s what I wear.

GMC:  How does it feel to be a Seventeen cover model, which is probably every girls dream?

SM: It’s amazing! It’s actually really crazy because this girl that I grew up with, we would read the magazine on our tummies.  She calls me and she was like, “you have got to be kidding me! You’re on the cover and that’s insane because when we were 15, we were reading these magazines!” I was like I Know!  So, it’s really surreal and great!

GMC: Thank you so much for taking the time to chat with us!

Meet LuV'd By MENy designer, Demarcus!

GMC: Can you tell us a little about your clothing line?

Demarcus:  LuV’d By MENy isn’t just a brand, it’s a lifestyle!  In the midst of bullying and hate, we’re a message to the world that regardless of what you say, we’re going to live our lives and have fun doing it. 

GMC: What inspires you most when designing?

Demarcus:  I’d say, knowing someone may indentify with the product and decide to be a part of it.

GMC: Is there a specific designer that inspires your work?

Demarcus: Kimora Lee Simmons.  I love her brand messaging and how she took a name with just a logo of a cat and created an empire. Now she’s in a position to give back which is exactly what I want to do.

GMC: How long have you been designing?

Demarcus: Not very long actually, I am just breaking into the field of fashion.  We’re starting with the t shirts, but I had big dreams for the company and where we can go design wise.  When I was younger my friend Timothy Avant and I would buy from thrift stores and do what we called “cut and create!”  We came up with some outrageous outfits and would hit the town.  I stepped away from it as I became a counselor which is my other passion, but now fashion is all coming back to the forefront. 

GMC: Are there any specific project your currently working on?

Demarcus: Yes, currently I’m working on promoting JuStLuV.net.  The Los Angeles Youth Network is a great organization serving the homeless population.  We have partnered to raise awareness about this crisis and hope to get as many people possible involved.

GMC: What are some of your favorite trends out now for the fall season approaching?

Demarcus:  Scarves and Shawls!!!  I love a nice scarf!

GMC: What are your least favorite trends of the season?

Demarcus: I’m going to have to wrap my head around floral.  I have allergies so my appreciation for floral is a little low. (lol)
